Hall Users & Organisations - First Aid

A First Aid Kit is available in The Hub to the left of the Coffee Bar and in the main Church vestibule. These are checked regularly to ensure they are fully stocked.

Each First Aid Kit is fitted with an inspection tag (similar to those used on a fire extinguisher). To break the tag, grip the pull tag and pull firmly away from the bag.

If required, a defibrillator (AED) is available in The Hub to the left of the coffee bar.

First Aid Facilities

Please note that hall staff or volunteers are not always present during bookings.

Each hiring organisation is responsible for ensuring that a competent person, preferably trained in first aid, is present during their session.

For larger events or higher-risk activities, organisers must complete a first aid risk assessment and make suitable arrangements.

First Aid Responsibilities

Please ensure to report any accidents or injuries that occur during your time on our premises. This helps us keep the facilities safe for everyone and ensures that any issues are addressed promptly.

We would also like to hear about any near-miss situations that could have led to injury, illness or damage. This is especially important where the issue relates to equipment or the process followed and to help us improve any advice and information to prevent future incidents.

Accident, Incident & Near-miss Reporting

In the event of an incident:

  1. Deal with with the immediate situation and alert the appropriate emergency services, if required.

  2. Alert your Responsible Person or their designate.

  3. Alert the emergency contact of those individuals involved, if required.

  4. Inform the Church Manager at the earliest opportunity if:

    • someone suffers a personal injury or illness requiring a doctor, nurse, paramedic, dentist or hospital;

    • someone requires an emergency service rescue;

    • any church or third party property is damaged.

Emergency: What do I do?
