Hall Users & Organisations - Housekeeping
A far as is reasonably practicable we operate a ‘Leave No Trace’ policy when using our halls. This means that we require all hall users & organisers to return the space they were using to its original condition. This ensures the halls are clean, tidy and ready for the next user, effectively leaving no trace of the previous event.
Of course we understand it might not always be possible to leave the room empty. Please only move or store items if you feel safe to do so. If anything feels too heavy or awkward, it is absolutely fine to leave it where you found it - You’re safety matters more to us!
As a general rule, all hall users & organisations should:
Return any furniture to it’s usual storage area, where possible and safe to do so;
Switch off all lights before leaving;
Ensure any electrical equipment used is turned off (All electrical equipment must be appropriately tested, e.g. PAT Testing)
Remove any excess rubbish unless otherwise agreed;
Brush or hoover floors if required;
Ensure that kitchen and coffee bar areas are left clean and tidy (if used);
Close and secure all windows and door before leaving.
Caring for what we share…
-
Stackable chairs are located in The Meeting Place, The Wilson Hall, The Guild Hall and the downstairs hall. These chairs should be stacked no more than 5 chairs high.
Folding tables are stored at the back of the downstairs hall outside the Caretaker’s Store and in the store to the left of the stage in the Guild Hall.
-
Please do not use drawing pins, tapes or adhesives without prior approval from the Church Manager.
Any decorations or posters should be removed before leaving.
-
Please liaise with the Church Officer before your booking to ensure there is adequate heat available.
Please do not attempt to adjust any heating controls. Access to the boiler room is strictly prohibited to authorised personnel only.
-
Unfortunately, we have limited parking available within our church grounds, and we ask all users to plan accordingly in advance of their visit.
Onsite parking is reserved for church staff, volunteers, and people with limited mobility only. Please ensure this is clearly communicated to your teams and service users.
Access routes must be kept clear at all times, and vehicles must not be parked in a way that would restrict access for emergency services.
The staff car park must not be used unless this has been specifically agreed in advance with the Church Manager.
In addition, our Minister and Pastoral Team may need to attend the church at short notice. For this reason, please ensure that the parking spaces marked “Minister” are kept clear at all times.

The kitchen may be booked as an additional facility to your hall hire. It should only be used by competent and responsible persons who are familiar with safe food handling and kitchen equipment. Please ensure it is left clean and tidy after use, with all surfaces wiped down, equipment washed, dried, and returned to its correct place, and all appliances switched off. Any rubbish should be removed unless otherwise agreed in advance.

There is a Karcher Vacuum Cleaner located on each floor. These are located at the bottom of the Guild Hall Stairs (inside cabinet) and in the Session Room store.
You will find our cleaning procedure displayed in key locations throughout the building. Please ensure you follow these procedures whilst using our premises.
We currently use Flash Professional products. You can find the Safety Data Sheets in the cupboard outside the church office. Please make sure you are using the right product for the right application:
