Hall Users & Organisations - Emergency Shut-off Procedures
In the event of an emergency, it is important that all hall users and organisations know how to safely isolate the building’s main utilities.
These shut-off points are designed to prevent further damage, reduce the risk of injury, and allow the emergency services to operate safely.
Before using the premises, all responsible persons should familiarise themselves with:
The location of the main gas shut-off valve,
The location of the main water stopcock, and
The location of the main electrical isolator switch.
Only attempt to turn off utilities if it is safe to do so and without putting yourself or others at risk. If in doubt, it is always best to wait for instruction from the emergency services.
